Fun with The Comedy Club doesn’t just have to start in the evening, our newly expanded site now includes the latest and funniest videos from YouTube, juicy gossip from the world of comedy, chances to win free tickets and a whole lot more. With over 40 entries into our Online Joke Competition we hope you’re all having a great time!

Comedians also enjoying April have included John Ryan; as a guest on Radio 5 Live’s Richard Bacon show we’re sure he gave Bacon a grilling(!). John also performed his Men’s Health Show at the London Science Museum, warm-up the audience twice for Jools Holland’s brand new live show and still managed to perfom his stand-up across the country. Funny Business winner Kevin Coleman has also been making the most of his new leading comedy status in Wales with radio appearances on BBC Radio Wales and projects with producation compamny Dai4 Films.

The Gossip! - Russell Brand’s role in the new film is yet another fresh performance from the formerly troubled star. ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ is billed as ‘the ultimate romantic disaster movie’ - we think Russell Brand’s got his role down to a T. Peep Show creators David Mitchell and Robert Webb are also on the case with the fifth series of the popular BBC sitcom. We can’t blame them for wanting to continue, the characters are brilliant and there’s actually no need to stop when it continues to be so popular.

What’s happened apart from all the snow and rain in march? - a lot if you’re in the world of comedy! John Ryan, (Leicester Comedy Festival Award Winner 2007) has performed across the country with his Mental Health Tour and ‘Hurt til it laughs’ project co run with the Leicester Comedy Festival. Rudi Lickwood has been performing on a cruise in the Mediterranean when not headlining across the UK, whilst Brian Higgins and Phil Butler performed for the armed forces in Cyprus and even appeared on Sky Poker. A comedians life and repertoir of work is far more than just stand up comedy and at Comic Voice Management we aim to change this perception yet further.

For our Comedy Club Venues it’s also been a great month. With more and more people coming out to enjoy comedy in their groups of 2’s, 4’s, 10’s & 20’s we’ve seen the average comedy club attendance record outside of December smashed! A huge well done to everyone involved and hope you continue to enjoy our service and top comedians we provide. The Comedy Club is far more than just a comedian hire service after all.

The Brit Awards really caused a stir this year with the dubious congratulatory awards for Amy Winehouse, but it wasn’t Amy causing a stir at the aftershow party. By special request, comedy circuit star Rudi Lickwood was chosen as host for the aftershow party entertainment. Packed with as much glitz and glamour usually seen in a year, the night was a great showcase for stand-up Rudi and proved once again that he’s on top of his game.

Away from the Brit Award histerics it was down to club stand-up favourites such as Harvey Oliver, Dave Ward and Steve Best to tickle our club crowds from Sunderland to Switzerland. Entertaining everyone from Aussies and Americans to the local Swiss, The Comedy Club Switzerland is testiment to Comedy’s ability to travel!
