One of that rare breed, a posh comedian, Michael McIntyre eschews the usual chip on the shoulder of many of his peers simply because he hasn’t got one. Indeed, when he asks about working class Britain, it can seem as if he really doesn’t know where it is. Forced to look at life from the opposite end has given Michael a unique edge over his contemporaries and often that of his audience. Always very popular with the ladies in the audience.

Comedian Biog: Gina Yashere

The undisputed star of Celebrity Fame Academy, Nigerian born Londoner Gina Yashere has become one of the most recognizable and sought after comics in the country, making numerous appearances on Television, radio and the big screen.

A former lift engineer, she has been described “a British rival for Whoopi Goldberg” and her cheeky wit and bombastic delivery has seen her complete numerous sellout tours nationwide.

In 2005, she appeared in the reality television series, Comic Relief does Fame Academy, in aid of Comic Relief, and she co-hosted the 2006 MOBO Awards alongside Coolio. She has also appeared on Mock the Week and a show on CBBC called Gina’s Laughing Gear.

In 2007, she tried out for Last Comic Standing during the Sydney, Australia auditions. She qualified for the semi-finals and was then chosen as one of the ten finalists to compete in the final rounds of Last Comic Standing. On August 1, 2007, in the first elimination round, she was eliminated along with Dante.

In 2008, she was the first-ever British person to be on Def Comedy Jam.
