Jim Tavare is one of the most instantly recognisable acts in British comedy today, Regularly described as “the natural heir to Tommy Cooper’” and also likened to the late, great Buster Keaton, he was the star of the BAFTA award winning The Sketch Show and several of his own series on BBC and Channel 5. Best known for his double act with his double bass and her slightly smaller cousin the recorder, he has also appeared at three Royal Variety performances as well as becoming Prince Charles’ comedian of choice, performing at his private Christmas Party 2001 and in front of Her Majesty The Queen and 13 Heads Of State at Highgrove. A classmate of Ralph Fiennes at RADA, Jim Tavare also narrowly missed out on being a member of Manchester band Joy Division and New Order. He appears in the Harry Potter films as Tom, the surly inn-keeper of The Leaky Cauldron.
Jim Tavare regularly appears at highlight Comedy Club events and adds a fantastic closing finish to any corporate, private or normal Comeyd Club show.

Jim has also starred in the 1992, 1994 & 1998 Royal Variety Performances, The Des O’Conner Show (ITV), Clive Anderson (CH4), Beethovens Not Dead (BBC2), he was also awarded his own show. ‘The Jim Tavare Show’ (CH5) which was met with further critical acclaim and won a BAFTA as part of ‘The Sketch Show’ (ITV 2002/03) team. Jim has performed in over 1000 corporate shows in the last 7 years.
