August News
The Comedy Club has seen an extremely busy August, not least because the seasons biggest event comes onto the calendar in August, the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. Never dampened by the rain, acts and audiences had more than there fair share of rain this summer, yet the shows kept on rolling. One man in particular capturing the attention of the crowds at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival was Funny Business Winner Kevin Coleman. Determined to prove he’s not only the newcomer from Wales, but the UK’s hottest new act. Kevin confidently swept his way throught the qualifying rounds to perform at the ‘Do You Think You’re Funny?’ competition finals. Keep your eyes on this blog in September as we’ll be letting let you know how he got on!
Outside Edinburgh this month, comedy still put in a good show with audiences fun and laughs in Comedy Club’s across the UK. A weekly run of shows at the Villa Marina was a welcome gig away for many of the comedians and with the nights selling strongly, check back regularly to further show listings at this great venue - The Villa Marina & Gaiety Theatre Complex, Isle of Man.

I saw Kevin Coleman the other night in Chelmsford and was pretty impressed. Being new on the comedy circuit and coming from Wales i thought he might struggle with the crowd here in essex. Fair play to the big guy though, he pulled it off and i thought his performance was great, he’s taken to being a comedian well. Look forward to seeing him back soon.

Blimey, Kevin must travel a few miles! I live out the other side of Chelmsford so Southend isn’t really good for me.
