September News
September’s been extremely busy across the board here at The Comedy Club. With Junior Simpson’s corporate gig at the O2 annual conference going so well, John Ryan’s day at Blue Peter keeping the kids entertained, Kevin McCarthy out in the Faulklands keeping our troop’s spirits high, Phil Butler and Rudi Lickwood on cruises and Tanyalee Davis performing in Bahrain, it’s been non-stop!
On the venue front, two new clubs started in September with great success. The Norton Grange MacDonald Hotel received fantastic feedback from the audience after the show, as did The Comedy Club at Carlisle Racecourse. So definitely keep your eyes peeled for more show dates coming soon.
The long awaited ‘Funny Business’ theatre tour also kicked off as the first show in many of the theatres’ Autumn/Winter programmes, it was quite a challenge and certainly a privilege. Yet with a run of successful shows the tour’s set for an even hotter October with shows from Hastings to Hull!
With talk of a Comedy Club series still fresh in the air following interest from Channel 4, and the Opus starting up the comedy again, there’s never been a better time to come and get involved with The Comedy Club.

Hi Gary sounds like you had a good time! We’ll keep the Carlisle page open and from Jan 2007 we should be able to announce a new run of show dates. Sorry for the wait but it’ll be well worth it.

The Funny Business Tour looks great. Is there any chance of an additional date on the tour to come to the west country?

Hi Steve, if you’re looking at becoming part of the tour yourself, please give us a call in the office and we will be more than happy to run through everything with you. If you’re looking to book tickets, keep your eyes peeled as we have new clubs opening all the time.

Rudi Lickwood is such a funny man. I was lucky to see him on a cruise but can you tell me where can I go to see him on dry land?

Sure, if you look at the comedians page on this website and click on Rudi’s name you will find a list of dates.
Remember to book in advance as Rudi’s shows are often sold out.
